The Air-Asia Experiance

We recently needed to travel from Bangkok to Kula Lumpur using Air-Asia.

Boarding the plane and sitting in one of the front rows, we could observe the captain (3-stips) obviously flirting with the cabin crew at all times. That is not very professional in my opinion!

After the plane departed and the ‘fasten your seat belt’ sign went off, the cabin crew started to sell food and beverages to passengers. May I mention that the food and beverages at Air-Asia flights must be purchased which are fine with me!

Asking for one particular dish, I was informed that the items I sold out already.

When asking for another dish, I was informed that the item is sold out as well.  So I asked the male cabin crew what items he has, he pointed at one noodle dish. I asked if this is all he got, he said yes.

It’s hard to understand why they are out of nearly all items if you are the 2nd. Passenger to be served!!!

Anyhow, disappointed we did not order anything, but later on wanted to purchase some duty free items.  We wanted to purchase 2 of the Swarovski Pan’s in their Duty Free Brochure.

We have been informed that Duty Free is not available on this international flight I must say that we started to be very disappointed, so we ask for one cabin crew to explain us on how come that nearly all food and beverage is sold out even we are one of the first passengers to be offered this service and how come that duty free is not available on this flight!

Besides that, it could clearly be seen that the cabin crew is not up to standard to handle any passenger comments or even complaints. The male cabin crew always turned his head to the side while talking to passengers and made laugh like expression when he could not answer a question! The female cabin crew had 4 upper her shirt bottom open in the hope someone might like to see something! Some passengers might like it, but all in all, it’s not professional at all…. Especially in the airline industry; – a industry which suppose to have the best training programs!

We have been informed the following: Food and Beverage items are stocked in Kuala Lumpur and since passengers from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok did purchase nearly all items there is nothing left for passengers from Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur! – What a joke! •

Duty free trolley has been forgotten at Kuala Lumpur – Another good joke!!

So we asked where we can buy this Swarovski Pan as we love the Pan so much! We have been informed that we can buy those 2 Swarovski Pen’s at Kuala Lumpur Airport or on our return trip to Bangkok. The Pan’s have not been available at Air-Asia Airport at KL as informed and never have been available there as far as we could find out. So we tried to buy the beloved Pan at our return-trip to Bangkok – in the hope that the duty-free trolley will not be forgotten at KL. We have been so happy that the duty-free trolley was on the plane for our return trip. However, happiness was short-lived as we have been informed that as a standard, Air-Asia carries only one item each.

I sincerely believe we could have been informed about this fact when we asked about 2 pcs of Pan’s on our first trip and when the cabin crew told us that we can buy the pans at KL airport or on our return trip!

When asking for contact details to send our complaint, we got a blank piece of A4 paper to write down our issues.

Our comments:

Air-Asia should be more humble with their PR on advertising who many food items, souvenirs and duty free items they have available for each flight. The number of Food and Beverage items – and duty free items – on the lists are as following:

• 110 Duty free items

• 47 souvenir items

• 14 Hot Food Items

• 49 different flavor snacks and drink items

“”It is impossible to manage that high amount of items to ensure sufficient stock.””

The extensive Menus and Lists have been made only to make good – but fake – PR without considering that it might well be that two passengers on a fully loaded Airbus 320 like to order the same item. Our Air-Asia Verdict! —- Never ever again!
